Plaster Work and Concrete Counters

The main part of this section of our website is dedicated to introducing to you the custom Plasterwork and concrete counter work of Dan Stanichuk of D&S Plastering Co. based in Benton, Maine (Tel.207.453.4644 - Cell 978.454.9885). Dan has 30 years experience in this speciality business and is a third generation plasterer.

In the following photos Dan demonstrates three types of plastering:

  • Glass Smooth. You see this technique on the main floor.
  • Italian Fresco. A smoother texture with paint added to the mix
  • Old World Texture/Fresco. A heavier skip coat plaserter technique used in the restoration aspect of the business.

Dan also consulted on and assisted in the installation of the inplace concrete counter tops. To achieve the seamless look, the counter tops needed to be poured inplace and worked on-site. The common way to install concrete counters is to manufacture them in sections off-site, prefinish them and then install them on the job-site. In the case of the ehouse the designer's vision was to continue the seamless flow of the design and incorporate the countertop so as to have this seamless installation. This method is not common and should be left to the experts "like Dan" for the desired end product.

Thank you for taking the time to review this section of the ADE ehouse photo gallery.
